About me

Hi, my name is Richard Owen, I am 19 and I am currently studying Engineering and Computer Science (ECS) at Lincoln College, University of Oxford. I come from Kettering in Northamptonshire, England. Not to be confused with Kettering, Ohio, USA. I am a keen Scout, and a member of both the KMVSU (Kettering Manor Venture Scout Unit) and OUSGG (Oxford University Scout and Guide Group). I enjoy Hillwalking. I am a member of the Oxford Union, and a member of the Lincoln College IVth Team for Pool. I hate football, so I haven't got a fav footie team, however, Kettering Town FC and Rushden and Diamonds FC deserve a mention. I do a lot of theatre work and my current projects are Fred and Madge, for which I am "Technical Devil" and Ion, for which I am Lighting Designer. I have recently joined Compsoc and have recently become OUDS Technical Officer. In any spare time I might have, I am the treasurer for the Oxford Guild of assassins.

Music: You name it, I'll probably like it (except rap and reggae). Everything from dance to heavy metal, and from classical to ska. Particularly: Meat Loaf, Sash!, DJ Quicksilver, Bruce Dickinson, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, REM, Manic Street Preachers (Everything Must Go and This is my Truth, tell me yours), Tchaikovsky, Madness and James.
I have recently joined ImSoc (the Oxford Indie Music Society) who run a club night on Thursdays at Club Latino, where I DJ.

About the site

This site was originally written using an Acorn A3010 (ie, not Windhoze), using Zap (probably the best text editor in the world ... ever). However, I have gone down in the world and have bought myself a PC, so I am now using that. Being a programmer, I write HTML manually and so very rarely use and composition tools... It has been tested, and should work on Webite, Arcweb, Netscape and Microsoft's Internet Explorer.
